KATHMANDU, Nepal – The sketch made public by the contractors showed an underground road with four lanes for vehicular movement plus sub-roads with two-lanes each on both left and right sides of that. The outer road junction having eight lanes on the underground road are some of the features of the road that the government is building in Chinese cooperation at Kalanki, the main entrance to the capital city Kathmandu via roadways. The Chinese constructors are working to complete the 10.39 kms road connecting Kalanki to Satdobato to Koteshwor near Tribhuvan International Airport by the next 40 months. The government in its bid to minimize the road traffic in Kathmandu valley is widening the road ways.
