(English) CAN SofTech- 2014 kicks off

CAN softechKATHMANDU, Nepal– With the attempts to add new dimension in the software services and information and technology, Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) has started its seventh edition of CAN SofTech- 2014 from Thursday.

Constituent Assembly Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang inaugurated the exhibition amid a programme at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall.  On the occasion, Nembang stressed the need to give high priority to Science and Technology sectors. He was of the opinion that the government should give high priority to Science Ministry.

The four-day exhibition Hall has 142 stalls of 65 companies.

The stalls will offer services including computer education, banking, information management, accounts management, antivirus and computer security. Security solution, wireless solution, printing solution, and various applications for different computing devices and smart phones are some of the features of the stalls.

Similarly, various IT companies, software developers, ISPs and telecom companies, among others, are taking part in the fair.

Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Environment Dr. Krishna Chandra Paudel said country´s development will be greatly aided if science and technology is highly utilized.

Some companies have reportedly announced to launch their new products from this SofTech.

A total of 150,000 visitors are expected in this SofTech.
