(English) SAARC experts agree common plan to preserve heritage site

KATHMANDU, Nepal–Culture experts from South Asia gathered in Lumbini have agreed to develop a common plan for the development of some 58 sites in South Asia. During a workshop held in Lumbini, they discussed the ways to preserve sites in the world heritage list in South Asia.

A total of 30 culture experts from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh and the Maldives took part in the event,

On the occasion, Ministers, experts of the region said that the capacity of the countries in the region should be enhanced to preserve and promote the sites listed in the world heritage list. The three-day workshop was held jointly by the SAARC Culture Centre based in Sri Lanka and the Department of Archaeology, according to a RSS report.
