(English) Preparations step up for new trekking routes

KATHMANDU, Nepal–With a view to exploring potential new trekking routes for trekkers, preparations are intensified for the Loluphera trek that passes through places like Lomangthang, Lumbini, Phewa and Rara lake, major attractive tourism destination in western Nepal.

Various tourism-related organisations and entrepreneurs are supporting the trek, which is likely to become another great attraction for the trekkers in Nepal after the Annapurna circuit.

“As a part of our initiative to find alternative trekking routes, we will start the trek from Pokhara’s Phewa Lake and make a detour of Dhorpatan, Rara Lake, Lumbini to Mustang’s Lhomangthang,” Bishwa Shankar Palikhe, one of the members of the committee was quoted by the himalayantimes daily.

Preparations for the trek that is to start from August 17 are in its last phase.
