(English) Peak profile plan pleases experts

KATHMANDU, Nepal–Experts and mountaineers have lauded the government’s decision to prepare peak profile of 492 mountains in the country. They believed that profile would have all the detail information of peaks in digital format as well as in booklets, which will make it easier for expedition teams

Aang Tshering Sherpa, president of Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) expressed gratitude to the government for the profile of the mountains.

According to him, preparing detailed peak profile aims to create employment opportunities, increasing national productivity and enhances foreign currency earning.

Mr. Buddhi Narayan Shrestha, NMA Advisor and Former Director General of Topographic Department has submitted an informative presentation on the contents of proposed peak profile format

Nepal is regarded as a god gifted paradise nestled in the lap of the Himalayas with snow capped mountains, roaring river valleys, ancient preserved cities with towering pagoda temples.

Nepal offers unique mountaineering, trekking opportunities and cultural experiences to the foreign tourists all year around. Other exciting opportunities are river rafting, rock and ice climbing, paragliding, kayaking, canyoning, bungee jumping, sky diving, mountain biking, bird watching, jungle safari, art and cultural experiences.
