KATHMANDU, Nepal–Rear left wheels of an airplane punctured while landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Monday afternoon.

Both two left wheels of a Biman Bangladesh aircraft that arrived Kathmandu from Dhaka, Bangladesh deflated at the runway.

No human casualties have been reported.

Fire was witnessed on the aircraft tires during landing owing to which the aircraft was diverted to taxiway. Three fire engines were deployed to avert possible fire as smolder on tires was seen. The wheels caught fire due to the friction caused during landing with punctured tires.

The aircraft has been grounded at TIA after the incident. The airplane will be resumed after the tires are replaced, multiple sources at TIA informed.
