(English) NMA conducts mountaineering course

KATHMANDU, Nepal–Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) is conducting Basic Mountaineering Course from 1 July 2014 at the capital Kathmandu and mountainous district Manang. As many as three dozen trainees have taken part at the training. The training will be accomplished on 14 August 2014.

According to NMA, the training Group -A of 36th Basic Mountaineering Course will give necessary training in Manang. Thirty-six trainees are participating in group Pasang Sherpa and Pasang Tenzing Sherpa are chief instructor and coordinator for the training respectively.

NMA President Ang Tshering Sherpa and General Secretary Thakur Raj Pandey bid farewell to trainer amidst a programme at NMA secretariat.

To promote mountain adventure tourism industry in Nepal, NMA conducts mountaineering and rescue trainings like Basic and High Mountain Rescue Training every year. After completing the course, the participants are eligible to rescue any accidental cases during the mountain climbing.
