(English) Nine of a family buried to death

KATHMANDU, Nepal– Nine members of a family were killed after a flood triggered by excessive rainfall swept away  their house on Thursday night at Aglung VDC-8 of Gulmi district, 250 kilometers south west of the capital Kathmandu.

According to the radio reports, the victims have been identified as Chhabilal Kunwar, his wife Seti, daughter-in-law Sita, daughter Juthi, grandson Chetman, and granddaughters Bindu, Bhima , Bipana and Mini.

The incident took place at around 11:00 PM, Thursday. The bodies were recovered from the landslide-hit site this morning the reports further said adding that the deceased have been taken to District Hospital, Gulmi for postmortem.

In the meantime, Meteorological and Forecasting Division (MFD) in Kathmandu informed that this year’s monsoon begun from Friday, ten days late than previous years. Normally, Himalayan nation witnesses monsoon from the 10th June. The MFD has also hinted that the monsoon will be weaker and remain hardly hundred days this year.
