(English) Tourists’ arrival at Ghorepani in upward trend

KATHMANDU, Nepal– Tourists arrival at Ghorepani in Ghar VDC-1 of Myagdi, located in western province of Nepal is on upward trend. Some 300 domestic and international tourists are entering Ghorepani every day from Pokhara, Jomsom and headquarters Beni, according to local hotel entrepreneur at Ghorepani Bhim Pun.

Ghorepani is located amidst the hills of the dense Rhododendron forest and more than a dozen peaks can be viewed from there.

Many domestic and foreign tourists who flock to Ghorepani also visit Pun Hill, which is some 45 minutes uphill walk from Ghorepani. Located at an altitude of 3,210 meters, Pun Hill is popular for sunrise viewing.

According to Area Police Office, Ghorepani, a total of 23,700 tourists had visited Ghorepani in 2012/13 while 29,540 foreign tourists arrived here in 2013.
