(English) Seven Summits Women Team conquers Mount Aconcagua

KATHMANDU, Nepal–The Seven Summits Women Team have safely back in Mendoza on Thursday after successfully scaling Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in South America.

“The team meets success in South America atop Mt Aconcagua. Chunu, Pema Diki, Nimdoma and Asha ascend the summit on 23rd Feb, 2014 in 9 days amidst one of the toughest weather situation,” the group said Thursday in their Facebook page. “All the members are safely back in Mendoza today. Thank you all the supporters, well-wishers, friends and family for the endless love and support. Gracias!”

Seven Summits Women Team is first-ever all female team comprising of 7 Nepali women from diverse ethnic and social background to set on a mission to climb the highest mountain in each continent. Mount Aconcagua is the fifth mountain scaled by the group. The expedition team left for South America two weeks ago had reached the base camp of Mt. Aconcagua on 19 February.

The inclusive members of Seven Summits Women Team are Nimdoma Sherpa, Pema Diki Sherpa, Shailee Basnet, Maya Gurung, Asha Kumari Singh, Pujan Acharya and Chunu Shrestha.

The team has noble aim to bring conceptual changes in Nepal and abroad through adventure.
