Canyoning training kicks of

KATHMANDU, Nepal– Realizing the need for alternative adventure productions in major trekking areas of the country, Basic Canyoning and Leadership Development Training has kicked off at Besisahar of Lamjung, nearly 150 kilometer far south west of the capital Kathmandu.

Rich Carlson, a trainer from American Canyoneering Academy (ACA), is providing training at a 10-day training programme, organized by Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN).

As a part of training schedule, practical courses are going to be held  on January 22 and 23 in the Marshyangdi Valley Canyoning Site.

Rich Carlson of America, Igor Terra Nova of Brazil, and Rajesh Lama Tamang and Dabindra Tamang of NCA will carry out the practical course, according to the organizers adding the course has been designed in such a way that participants will also be able to perform dry canyon.

Co-organized by Nepal Canyoning Association (NCA), District Development Committee (DDC) Lamjung and Dip Jyoti Club, a total of 13 underprivileged youths, mainly from the district are taking part in the training.
