200 delegates in Kathmandu to participate in International biomedical symposium

mmdrm-confg-ktmKATHMANDU, Nepal – The second international conference on ‘Medical Materials, Devices and Regenerative Medicine’ (MMDRM 2) kicked off in Kathmandu on Saturday with more than 200 delegates participating the programme.

According to the organizers, more than 80 papers of scientists, researchers, clinicians and students will be presented at the conference that will continue until 13 of January.

The College of Biomedical Engineering and Applied Science (CBEAS) and two Indian institutes — Society for Biomaterials and Artificial Organs and Society for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine are the organizers of the conference.

More than 200 delegates from Nepal, India, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Jordan, Russia, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Belgium, China, Germany and Italy are participating in the conference.

Inaugurating the conference, Vice-President Paramananda Jha expressed hope that the conference will be instrumental in the development of the health sector.

Minister for Health and Population, Bidhyadhar Mallik, pledged government support for the health sector.

The first MMDRM conference was organized in Kathmandu on November 23-25 in 2008, organizers said.
