KATHMANDU, Nepal–The only Information Technology (IT) Park in the country is going to be operated from mid-April, the Ministry of Science and Environment informed.
Aiming to promote IT based business and offer services as well as promotes investors in the related fields; the park was set up in 2003/04 with the investment of Rs 270 million.
The operation of the park was delayed as some companies were hesitant to work citing lack of power supply and fiber installation.
Situated in Banepa of Kavre district, the park would come into operation soon after the government gives a final touch to the IT Park Operation Procedures, It is learnt.
The government is planning to grant 50 per cent tax subsidy to the park operating companies.
