Three mountaineers killed in Mt. Himlung avalanche
KATHMANDU, Nepal- Three Nepali climbers were killed while climbing the Mt. Himlung in Solukhumbu district, recently. They had gone missing in an avalanche a week ago.
The dead mountaineers are identified as Tendi Sherpa of Gudel VDC-4, Pasang Shepa of Juke village in the district and Kaji Sherpa of adjoining Okhaldhunga district, according to RSS , a National News Agency of Nepal.
Bodies of Tendi and Pasang are kept at Himlung Base Camp No. 1, said Datenji Sherpa.
A helicopter of the Mountain Air landed at the Himlung Base Camp on Sunday morning to airlift the bodies failed due to adverse weather, it is learnt.
