Bote Rai dies at 109 after fulfilling his flying dream

KATHMANDU, Nepal- An Elderly Nepalese man Bote Rai, 109, of Dhankuta-3, whose dream to fly like a bird in the plane was fulfilled a few weeks ago, died in his village on Wednesday.

Yeti Airlines had managed the flight and his accommodation in Kathmandu; after the news about Bote’s long cherished dream to fly in a plane was published in media.

Octogenarian Rai had boarded a 35-minute flight from Biratnagar to Kathmandu after the Yeti Airlines owned up the responsibility to fulfill his dream.

Bote was suffering from common cold and fever.

Though he had three wives and 12 children in his hey-days, he was accompanied by his 75-year-old nephew Man Bahadur Rai untill his death.

In the meantime, the locals paid last honour to Rai before his cremation in Salleri forest, Thursday afternoon.
