TIA resumes after three hours of interruption

KATHMANDU, Nepal- All domestic and international flights to and from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have resumed Sunday evening following the maintenance works of the runway.

All the international flights at TIA were disrupted and diverted to Lucknow of India after the crumble of runway triggered by scorching sun and incessant rainfall on Sunday afternoon.

All the domestic and international flights were disrupted for three hours due to crumble.

TIA had immediately started maintenance works after the blacktop on the runway peeled off. According to General Manager of TIA Dinesh Shrestha, landings and takeoffs at the TIA were resumed Sunday evening after disrupting for three hours.

The flights from Bhadrapur and Biratnagar were diverted to Simara while flights to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj, Dhangadh, Pokhara, and other sites were stopped in the airports concerned.
