Flight operation authorization issued to Turkish Airlines

KATHMANDU, Nepal-The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) has issued flight operation authorization to Turkish Airlines to operate directs flight between Kathmandu and Istanbul.

‘The secretary-level decision held on Tuesday issued the authorization,’ a source at the Ministry said. Nepal and Turkey signed an air service agreement (ASA) in September 2010.

Turkish Airlines, which is the world’s fourth biggest carrier in terms of destinations, is slated to connect Tribhuvan International Airport from Sept 1. The airline, currently serves 223 destinations in 99 nations, has plan to add 30 more destinations by the end of 2013.

According to the agreement, the two countries will operate 14 flights per week between Kathmandu and Istanbul.
