Intl tourists visiting Chitre village up

KATHMANDU, Nepal-Foreign tourists visiting Chitre village, one of the famous villages for home stay in Nepal, has been increased in the latest days. The village that lies 18 kilometers away from Prabat district headquarter in Dhaulagiri Zone of central Nepal is situated about 250 kilometers north-west of capital Kathmandu.

With the arrangement of warm welcome along with home stay facility, foreigners are getting lured day per day towards the village that lay at the lap of Panchase, situated at a high altitude of 2517 meters at the confluence of three districts Kaski, Parbat and Shyangja in the Western development region.

A dozen more houses have been offering home stay services since 2009 in the village. Diversity in ethnicity, community, tradition and climate of the village has are some of the key features of this village that has caught foreigners. Apart from this, high hills, small range lakes and caves, water fall; greenery and enchanting rural environment have drawn tempted international tourists . According to chairperson of the Panchase Homestay, Sushila Gurung, they started the home-stay services in the village after tourists visiting the Chitre village faced difficulties for lodging and food.

The village and local offer foreigners a real feeling of Nepali way of rural life and international tourists have surpassed the domestic ones, villager Giri Raj Paudel said adding the village aims at providing both the cultural and natural exposure to the lifestyle and culture of whole western development region.

Earlier, a five day long Chitre festival was held in the village in a bid to promote the features of the village and give the message to those who left village after being attracted by urban facility.
