Austrian national injured in Solu paragliding accident

An Austrian tourist has been injured due to a fall in course of paragliding at Sundar Peak at Namche, police said.

The injured has been identified as Martin Silagi. It is learnt that he was paragliding alone.

According to a news release by the national news agency RSS that refers to the District Police Office, Solukhumbu, Silagi was injured after he fell in a crevasse at Sunasr Peak while paragliding in the area.

The accident took place at an altitude of nearly 5,500 metres from the sea level.

Silagi suffered serious injuries to his left leg and left hand due to the fall. He is also hurt in the face.

The Yeti Mountain Home, Namche rescued him immediately after the accident and he was airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment. It is learnt that his condition is normal.
