KATHMANDU, Nepal–The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), anti-corruption constitutional body asked the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) to bring its new China-made MA60 aircraft into operation by June 29.

At a time Tourism Secretary, General Manager of the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority (CAAN) Ratis Chandra Lal Suman and General Manager of the NAC Madan Kharel asked the CIAA to extend the deadline considering technical complexities to begin the operation, the CIAA’s latest direction came.

The anti corruption watch dog also warned it will be the last deadline for the state-owned flight operator to begin operation of the new aircraft.

Earlier on June 4, the CIAA has said it would start further investigation against the NAC if the corporation did not begin operation of the craft by June 15. The Commission also said it would take actions against NAC officials if they fail to begin the operation by the deadline.
