KATHMANDU, Nepal–The U-16 national football team captain Bimal Gharti Magar has been recalled for a year-long full training session by the RSC Anderlecht, a Belgium based club, thanks to the teenage footballer who has broken the South Asian barrier.
Bimal, 16, was invited for training by Anderlecht following his impressive performance in a two-month trial-cum-training with the team in April and May.
According to All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) he will rejoin the training at the club’s academy from July 31, 2014 until May 2015 which makes him the first Nepali footballer to train for such a long period in Europe.
The club has also nodded to look after visa renewal process for Bimal.
