KATHMANDU, Nepal – An unidentified gang of masked men shot dead a hotel owner in Chaurikharka-5, Phakding of Solukhumbu district.
Gyaljen Sherpa, 50, who has been running a local Star Hotel, was shot dead at the hotel premises on Sunday night.
According to television reports, three unidentified masked men, who had come at the hotel last night, had opened fire at Sherpa.
Sherpa died on the spot, the reports say.
Police is investigating the incident and the men behind the incident as the culprits are at large.
Security in and around the area including Namche Bazaar and Lukla has been heightened following the incident.
