Food fair in tourist hub city

KATHMANDU, Nepal- In a bid to lure more tourists in the city, the Second Food Festival has kicked off in Pokhara, a major tourist hub place of Nepal from Thursday.

The three day fair organized by the Restaurants and Bar Association, Pokhara, aims to bring more foreign tourists and provide adequate information about peaks, trekking sites among other places of historical and cultural significances in Pokhara.

All the four newly-elected members of the Constituent Assembly (CA) members inaugurated the fair amidst a programme freeing a couple of pigeon.

On the occasion, chairman of the Association KP Sharma and former president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Anandaraj Mulmi stressed the need to maintain tourist friendly environment while providing services to foreigners by the associations and other concerned agencies.

A total 130 stalls including 110 commercial, 12 restaurants and eight others are showcased in the festival.

A total of 200,000 visitors and foreigners are expected to visit the fair.
