Dhulikhel turning into intl level tourist destination

KATHMANDU, Nepal- Dhulikhel is gradually now turning into a perfect tourist destination with a huge flock of foreigners continue visiting this beautiful places round the months, according to tourism entrepreneurs.

They have further claimed that the place could be formulated into internationally recognized tourist hub city if the government further paid its attention in view of boosting other modern facilities which are required for the tourists.

The town, just 30-kilometers south-west of capital Kathmandu has attracted thousands of domestic and international tourists.

Situated at a height of 1500 meters above the sea level, Dhulikhel, the headquarters of Kavrepalanchowk district is far away from urban herd.

‘The city could easily be transformed into international level tourist destination as required perquisites for luring the tourists have already been set’, tourism expert Bharat Sharma said.

According to him, the town is equally significant for historical temple and beautiful houses, which give cue to anyone of the architect of the then centuries old Malla dynasty.

Also famed for a melting point of different caste and ethnicities of various communities, the place is well known for its conductive climate.

More than 20 Himalayan peaks, including Mt. Annapurna (8,091m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516m), Mt. Ganesh Himal (7,429m), Mt. Langtang (7,234m), Mt. Gaurishanker (7,134m), and Mt. Phuribichyachu (6,637m) can be viewed  from different points of the city.

‘The place is major tourist hub city of Nepal after Pokhara,’ Sashi Khadka, another tourism expert and owner of Himalayan Treks opined. According to him, dozens of snow capped peaks could be seen from many places of Dhulikhel.

Local entrepreneur Hari Thapaliya said the 1,000 stone-paved ladders and a tall statute of the Lord Buddha in the ever green Shanti Ban near Dhulikhel have lured many foreigners.
