German tourist thrashed, half a dozen held

KATHMANDU, Nepal-A group of local youths has mercilessly thrashed a German tourist at a local hotel in Panchpokhari, Sankhuwasabha district in the eastern region of Nepal.

The attackers thrashed 44-year-old German national while the latter was on his way to Kathmandu after visiting Guphapokhari with his eight-member team. The victim has sustained serious injuries in his eye and back. The name of the tourist has not been disclosed yet.

The reason behind the attack is yet to ascertain.

The injured foreigner had escaped from the assailants and reached Deurali Police Post to file a case.

According to eyewitness, Purushottam Khatiwada, Erish Chonbang, Rajesh Chonbang, Bijaya Chonbang and Lokmani Chonbang of Saghu and another unidentified person in the district thrashed the tourists mercilessly.

Security personnel are investigation over the case as the suspects have admitted their involvement in the beating. Meantime, the victim tourist has demanded strong action against the assailants.
