KATHMANDU, Nepal- Hindus people across the nation have been observing Laxmi puja by worshiping the Goddesses of Wealth on Sunday. They worship Laxmi by decorating their homes flowers, garlands and light. All the corners of the houses, shops, buildings, including courtyard, cowshed and rooms decorated with colorful lights in the evening in the belief to attract Goddess Laxmi.
Some people light lamps and spend the whole night in the vigil to appease the goddess. The worship consists of a mixed puja of five deities: Ganesh is worshipped at the beginning of every auspicious act as Vighnaharta.
Similarly, goddess Lakshami is worshipped in her three forms-Mahalakshami (the goddess of wealth and money), Masaraswati ie the goddesses of learning and Mahakali.
In the meantime, President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has extended best wishes for the happiness, peace and prosperity of Nepalis on the occasion of Laxmi Puja today.
