KATHMANDU, Nepal-Five people were killed and 12 others injured when a jeep skidded off the road at Sirise in Udayapur district, far east of the Capital Kathmandu on Sunday evening.
The ill fated Jeep registered no (Na 1 Ja 176) was heading for Ghurmi from Katari when the accident occurred, according to Nepal Television report.
The jeep slipped some 500 meters down the road at around 7 pm, according to police.
The deceased have been identified as Bal Kumar Khatri, 30, of Bakila-4 and Narayan Prasad Pokharel, 70, of Bijaykharka of Khotang district. The identification of rest three is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, the injured are undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Biratnagar.
