4 injured in big cat attack

KATHMANDU, Nepal- As many as four people were  injured when a leopard attacked them at Agrikharka in Rapakot VDC-3 in mountainous  Syangja district, around 300 kilometer far from the Capital Kathmandu, Thursday morning.

Anakanta Lamsal, 15, Kesh Kumari Lamsal, 25, Thag Narayan Lamsal, 55, and Ramesh Prasad Kafle, 22, were injured when the leopard seized coming from a nearby forest seized them all of sudden, according to District Police Office, Syangja.

Among the injured Anakanta and Kesh kumari are said to be  in critical condition.

All the injured were rushed to Gandaki Zonal Hospital in Pokara for further treatment as it was impossible in local health center.

The man hunting wild cat suddenly attacked the people while they were harvesting paddy in their farm nearby their village.

Meanwhile, a team of police sent from a nearby police post have shot dead the beast, Assistant Forest Officer Om Bahadur Gurung informed. Rapakot VDC of the district is prone to leopard attack. Just a week ago a leopard had attacked 5 people at Putalibazar when they had gone to collect fodder in the nearby forest.
