Two among Australian tourist killed, 11 missing as microbus plunges into Trishuli river

KATHMANDU, Nepal-Two passengers including an Australian woman tourists were killed and eleven other missing when a microbus plunged into the Trishuli tiver at Darechowk-9 in Chitwan district  on the Prithvi Highway, Monday.

Tthe micro-bus with register no Ba.2Kha. 2598, heading towards Kathmandu from Narayagadh fell into the river Monday afternoon on the main day of Bijaya Dashain, according to police.

Among the dead, one has been identified as Nita Poudel (22) of Lalitpur, and an Australian woman tourist.

Six others were rescued from the river, police said adding at least 20 passangers were travelling at the bus.

Meanwhile, police and locals have  been searching for the missing  passengers.
