‘Rural Tourism’ guides foreigners in Nepalese villages

KATHAMDNU, Nepal-With an aim to provide necessary information about the activities of tourism launched in the rural belts of Nepal, a book ‘Rural Tourism’ has been published.

The book published by the Village Promotion Forum Nepal in co-work of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) includes several articles and collections, information about the historical tourism sites of the country besides economic, social, cultural and religious issues of tourism.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ram Kumar Shrestha released the book amidst a programme in Kathmandu on the occasion of 17th Village Tourism Day.

Releasing the book, Minister Shrestha informed that Nepal is prioritizing the rural tourism through the programmes like home stay and publicity of typical place. Nepal is rich in in its typical cultures and houses dozens mountains, lakes, ancient building and historical monuments.

On the occasion, Minister Shrestha stressed the need to promote rural tourism in the nook and hook of the nation since the tourism was vital source of income for many people in the villages.

During the programme, Ministry Shrestha, felicitated Barpak Housing from this year’s Housing Award, which carries a purse of Rs. 11,000. The award is founded by the Forum.

In the meantime, Shiva Lamichhane, president of the Forum asked government to promote rural tourism sites of the country to lure national and international tourists.

The book contained article on various issues including various works to be carried out by the government and private sectors in the days to come.
