(English) Bunjee Jump now in Pokhara

KATHMANDU, Nepal–It may be good news for those who want to enjoy the thrill of free-falling from a great height as the significant adventurous sport bungee jumping has finally launched in Pokhara.

The starting of bungee jumping has given another reason for tourists to travel the scenic city of Pokhara. The new adventure sport was possible in tourist hub city with Golcha Organization and Mangal Group showed green signal to invest for the project.

A 45 meter high tower of bungee jumping has been set up at hill at Hemja.

“We hope that bungee jumping will help lure both domestic and foreign tourists. This adventure sport in Pokhara will certainly be a new tourist attraction,” today’s Nagrik news quoted managing director of the project Abinav Churiwal as saying.

According to Churiwal, the sport would build a concrete foundation of adventure sports in Pokhara beside helping others to recognize the tourism potentials.

Tower bungee has been installed for the first time in Nepal and it might be a thrill of a lifetime for those who do not fear heights.

The first bungee jumping station was installed at a suspension bridge that connects locals to The Last Resort in Sindhupalchowk.

Stakeholders believe that any adventurer can realize a different experience.

Nepali Bunjee jumping operators normally charge foreigners more than the domestic visitors, for which stakeholders have been complaining. They charge Rs 3,490 to domestic visitors while foreigners should pay Rs 6,890.

Likewise, operators charge Rs 5490 and Rs 9,990 to domestic and foreign visitors respectively for both Zip line and bungee jump.
