(English) Namche Bazaar received heavy snowfall

KATHMANDU, Nepal–Namche Bazaar, the gate way to the Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world witnessed a heavy snowfall on Saturday. This is the seventh time in last four months that the district received heavy snowfall, according to reports from the district. Northern parts of Solukhumbu district including Pattale and Lamojura experienced considerable snowfall.

Life across the district has been crippled due to the snowfall, the reports further said. According to locals, the ecological balance of the Himalayan region is destroyed due to climate change adding there would be snowfall only for a couple of times in a year.

Just a week ago, a heavy snowfall had hit the lives in Khumbu region of the district hard.

Cattle farmers have been unable to collect fodders for the livestock following snowfall.
