KATHMANDU, Nepal-Pointing out conspiracy and unfair in the election process, UCPN (M) has announced that they will stay out of the Constituent Assembly if the counting process is not halted. Holding an emergency press conference on Thursday morning, chairman of United Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda claimed there has been national and international conspiracy in the polls process and UCPN (M) will boycott if the process is not reevaluated.

The United Maoist statement came as election officials announced that he lost in a Kathmandu constituency, with third position.

‘There have been suspicious incidents during the collection of ballot boxes across the nation,’ said chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal. He also warned that the counting should not move ahead without reassessing the process.

Dahal added that the party believes in a peaceful, democratic process and is not eliminating dialogue with other parties.

Answering a question if the party is mulling over on rejoining with Baidya led CPN-Maoist, Dahal hinted that there is a possibility of reunion.

The party’s spokesperson Agni Sapkota had called a press conference in Sindupalchok at 3 am this morning and demanded that the counting be halted. Party representatives had walked out of counting stations across the nation.

In the meantime, leaders of the major political parties said the UCPN (Maoist) has to accept the mandate of the people.
