It is a tradition that one should leave the ground at least once during the Dashain Festival. Flying kites and swinging in a bamboo swings is a part of outdoor Dashain celebration.
The annual Dashain exodus is in full swing with people rushing out of Kathmandu to their home towns and villages for the year’s greatest festival. According to the transport entrepreneurs, more than 1.7 million people have left for the Valley during Dashain by private and public transport by Friday.
