KATHMANDU, Nepal- President of the EvK2CNR Committee, Mr. Agostino Da Polenza and his works in the scientific field were well praised by the high level delegates gathered here on Saturday, September 28, 2013. At a reception and dinner party organized in honour of H.E. Daniele Mancini, Italian Ambassador to Nepal and launching of the Cobat project in Nepal, Mr. Ambassador said, he find himself always stunned by the Himalayas of Nepal and hailed Mr. Da Polenza for his dedication in preserving the mountain and its people through researches.
Stating that the scientific researches launched by EvK2CNR has helped in strengthening bilateral relationship between Nepal and Italy, he said that Italy is always behind to support Mr. Da Polenza in his scientific endeavor.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Da Polenza briefed the gathering that about his works and thanked all for their support.
Dr. Chiranjivi Regmi, Chief at the Planning Division of NAST, recalled his past experiences and collaboration with Mr. Da Polenza and the EvK2CNR project. He, praising the EVK2CNR for launching various scientific and environmental projects in Nepal being associated with the NAST, has asked for more scientific assistance from both the government of Italy and the EvK2CNR. Dr. Regmi while thanking Mr. Da Polenza for his initiatives in establishing Himalayan Seed Bank and other scientific labs in the NAST, urged to work together to explore better research possibilities.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Giancarlo Morandi, COBAT President, briefed the gathering about the COBAT mission and his involvement with the EvK2CNR.
A video presentation made on the activities of EvK2CNR in Nepal titled EvK2CNR, Ricerca Scientifica e tecnologica in alta quota “Venticinquesimo Anniversario” and EvK2CNR Cobat, “Top Recycling Mission” featuring research and innovations, mountaineering activities, new technology and environment, Sherpa’s culture, religion and tradition among others issues were also made during the programme.
At the programme Hon’ble Secretary at Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology Dr. Somlal Subedi, Officials from the ministry, environmentalist Prof. Dr. Dinesh Bhuju, Dr. Ashok Bajracharya, NAST officials, scientists, researchers, staffs of the EvK2CNR Representative Office, journalists among others were also present.
