2nd day of Gaijatra Festival being observed in Capital Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Nepal-People from Newar community  marking the traditional festival Gaijatra or ´the festival of cow’ in Capital Kathmandu,  Friday. The festival, beginning on the first day of the waning moon in the month of Bhadra as per the lunar calendar, lasts for a week. The day is being observed in other parts of the country amidst humour and satire. During this time-honored tradition, people of all ages in the desguise of cows  and odd dress marches through the city to commemorate those who died during the past year.
