KATHMANDU, Nepal–International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) on Wednesday announced the title of its upcoming conference: “Mountain people adapting to change: solutions beyond boundaries bridging science, policy and practice.”
The conference is part of the organization´s annual flagship event on mountain people and climate change adaptation. The three day conference will kick off from November.
“Some 200 experts and stakeholders from across the world, including government representatives and dignitaries from the Hindu Kush Himalayan (HKH) Region, will participate in the conference that aims to strengthen links and promote knowledge sharing between climate scientists, policy makers and practitioners, ” it states.
The ICIMOD said it will explore holistic solutions for adaptation that transcend political, sector and national boundaries.
The conference will focus on current adaptation science in natural and social disciplines, adaptation policy and action, innovative adaptation solutions from organizations working in the HKH region, presentations from young scholars and change-makers, good adaptation practices and the way forward for adaptation.
