Ten Skydivers killed in Belgium plane crash

KATHMANDU, Nepal- Ten parachuters including a pilot killed when a light aircraft crashed in a few minutes after taking off in south-east Belgium on Saturday afternoon, international news agencies reported.

The ill fated aircraft met the accident when it all of sudden plunged into the ground on the outskirts of the city of Namur killing all aboard the plane.

The wing of the plane slumped mid-flight over a house, Sud Presse newspaper reported citing a witness Benoit Pierson as saying. Pierson rushed to the plane instantly when he saw it go down, near his home.

‘One of the passengers was still alive, smashed up, but alive’, he told to a local television.

The cause of the accident is yet to ascertain, however security forces spread across the scene are said to be investigating the incident.

In the meantime, Belgian Prime Minister Elio di Rupo, said he was upset by the devastating crash. ‘Plane crash near Namur: my thoughts are with all the victims, their families and their loved ones,’ the Prime Minister said adding that his thoughts were with families of the victims.
